what is Antibody and how do they work?

The antibody is a protein produced by white blood cells that helps the white blood cells destroy bacteria. The antibody reacts with the antigens and inactivates or destroys them. A large number of antibodies are produced in the blood which are targeted against various types of antigens.

Antigens are foreign molecules, cells, bacteria, viruses, or fungi which enter the body usually as disease-causing micro-organisms. antibodies are an integral part of the defense mechanism of the human body. They are also involved in immunity against diseases.
